600000 CZ Domains Registered

The CZ.NIC association has reported that 600’000 CZ domains have been registered as of September 30 2009. IT has taken less than 10 months to get to the first 1/2 million CZ domains registered.

They attribute this success to their new domain registration system, named FRED which has speeded up the process and allowed the domains to be cheaper.

“The .CZ domain has held the position of most requested domain for a long time with Czech registrars, which essentially confirms the global trend for the preference of national domains. On average, this year we have recorded around 10,000 new .CZ names every month said Ond Filip, Executive Director of the CZ.NIC association.
